Moda Fabrics and That Patchwork Place® have teamed up to sponsor a quiltmaking contest with generous prizes to celebrate the publication of Schnibbles Times Two by Carrie Nelson, owner of Miss Rosie’s Quilt Company. The book uses layer cakes and charm packs. We have many of the Moda 'Christmas' layer cakes.
Contestants will submit their quilt to The Quilter's Garden. We will then select one finalist for the overall competition. The sponsors will select three winners who will each receive new books and current fabrics in a series of monthly shipments.
Here's the definition of a Schnibble from the Miss Rosie's Quilt Company's web-site:
Schnibble: noun A scrap of fabric; a leftover bit of cloth; a small piece. The word has a German origin and is found primarily in German settlements in the Midwest.
There you have it the meaning of a Schnibble.
First, second, and third prize packages will be awarded, and include monthly shipments of That Patchwork Place Books and current Moda fabrics.
Bring your quilt into the shop by July 31, 2010.
